City Sounds : The Results

On Sunday 21st June the 11 City Sounds finalists took to the City Sounds Stage to battle it out live in front of an audience.

5 Judges consisting of young people aged 14 – 19 years judged each act based on their Talent Ability, Commercial Appeal, Entertainment Value / Stage Presence, Timing / In Tune and Image. Each act was scored out of a possible 250 points.

The viewing public also got their chance to vote for their favourite act of the day via ballot papers. Over 1550 votes were cast on the day.

For every 10 ballot votes cast each act scored 1 point towards the final judge’s score.

At 5.30pm all votes were counted and the 3 finalists were announced. 

The 3 finalists were:

- KS:91

- Crank

- Autocast

 

All City Sounds finalist’s will each receive coverage in The Autumn/Winter edition of The Grid magazine and website, 6-8 weeks mentoring support from The M.I.M.A project, including advice from music industry professionals, a spot in the final of the City Sounds competition at ABC2 on the 4th November and an allocation of tickets to the final at ABC2 on the 4th November 09

On Wednesday 4th November one finalist will become the winner of City Sounds 2009.

The winners prize will be:

- Free recording time at top Glasgow studio

- Support from top music industry scouts

- Front cover presence in the autumn edition of The Grid

- A spot on the Winterfest stage at George Square 

- 500 of their very own CDs
