Hot off the heels of being crowned finalists at our first ever City Sounds festival, we grabbed a slot with the three finalists for an update on what’s happening and how they’re preparing for their big performance at the ABC2 on 4th November...

What have you been up to since winning the first stage of City Sounds?

KS:91: Personally… nothing!  I’ve had work and stuff but not much else. It’s kind of weird other bands have been rehearsing but our act is quite simple and different, we’ve not done much rehearsing …..yet!

Autocast: We’ve been rehearsing as much as we can to prepare for the final.

Crank: We’ve been in the studio quite a lot and trying to get a few gigs organised for practice for the ABC2.

When do you start your mentoring prog and rehearsals with The M.I.M.A project?

ALL: Sat 12th Sep

What are YOU looking forward to most about your performance at the ABC 2 in November?

KS:91: To be honest the bigger stage will allow us to express ourselves as we don’t just sing but we can dance too, so we’re looking forward to getting the crowd going and just entertain them.

Autocast: We’ve not played ABC2 before so we’re looking forward to that, we just love playing any live gig but we think Crank will be hot competition for us as we’re the bands in the comp.

Crank: We love playing to the crowd it’s just a great feeling when you see them jumping up and down and enjoying themselves.

What sets you apart from the other finalists and makes you a worthy winner of City Sounds? (no fighting please!)

KS:91: What we noticed from the first stage of the comp was that a lot of the acts were bands and we are a whole different genre, we’ve no instruments and stuff, all we need to do is change the CD!

Autocast: We’re different and we’re good! We keep writing better stuff and are on a high at the moment. Since playing at Kelvingrove we’ve written a lot of new material, we just keep improving and we hope others think so too!

Crank: We’ve got a lot of drive behind our songs, we feel they are really powerful.

What would you say to Grid readers to encourage them to come and see you play LIVE at the ABC2?

KS:91: If you’re looking to be entertained then come on by!

Autocast: It would be good for anyone to come along, we’re all quite different acts so it’ll be a good variety. It should be jumping on the night – we’ve had at least 50 people wanting to come so far!

Crank: Just Crank It !
